Datasource Alerts

Infoveave allows you to set alerts for the targets and thresholds you have created based on datasource and its dimensions. The feature in Infoveave allows us to add a activity or workflows, which will be executed when target and thresholds meets the specified condition.

You can also set alerts for your IoT datasource by specifying custom rules on the data being received in real-time. You can set up rules based on threshold values (overtime or events) being greater than or lesser than a target.

Steps to Setup IoT Alerts

Access IoT Alerts

IOT Alerts

  1. To create and set up a IoT alert based on your available IoT Datasource, click on Alerts .All Alerts, set by you or shared with you will be displayed under the tabs My Alerts and Shared Alerts respectively.
  2. To formulate a fresh Alert, click on New Alert.
  3. Enter the Alert Name.

Configure IoT Alerts

Configuring the IoT alert to set the conditions to trigger the alert and define the actions to be taken when the conditions are met. To configure the IoT follow the below steps

  1. Provide a descriptive name for the IoT alert.
  2. Enter the message that will be displayed when the alert condition is met.
  3. Select the IoT Datasource to which the alert will be applied.
  4. Choose the dimensions that the alert will be based on. **Note** The dimension and add rule button will only appear after selecting the Datasource.
  5. Click on Add Rule to define the specific conditions for the alert
  6. Select the measure that will be used in the alert.
  7. Define the Alert Rule type, you can choose from options like “value”, “difference”, “% difference”, “last N events”, “last N minutes”, “aggregate of last N events”, or “aggregate of last N minutes”.If you choose last N events or last N minutes, you will have extra fields to define the N value. For aggregate of last N events and aggregate of last N minutes, you will also need to select the aggregator.
  8. Pick a relational operator such as greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, less than or equal to, equal to, in between, or not equal to. (Note Define the value based on the selected relational operator.)
  9. Click on Add Filter to include dimensional filters for more specificity.
    • Select the dimension you want to filter on.
    • Choose from conditional filters like “are”, “are not”, “in”, or “not in”, and define the specific dimension value.
  10. Click on Add Action to specify the action to be taken when the alert condition is met
    • Choose between a activity or workflow from the drop-down menu.
    • Select the desired activity or workflow from the list.
    • To automatically execute the selected activity or workflow when the alert condition is met, enable the Is Automated checkbox.
  11. Click on Delete, if you want to delete any actions or rules defined.
  12. Click Save to save the new IoT alert configuration. Add IoT Alerts
  13. To activate the IoT alert, click on Enable Alert icon on the required alert.
